About Me
Hello, you! I’m Jasmine – wife, new mother, pup-mom, accountant, and lover of all things pasta.
2014 was a big year for me. I had spent 28 years of my life in Texas (and I will always be a Texas girl at heart!), but in 2014 I married the love of my life, quit a job I loved, left my friends and family, and relocated to Louisiana, where I took in all the Cajun culture I could. After Louisiana, we spent a little time in Northern Cali where we enjoyed the fresh and abundant produce and beautiful weather, and have since returned to our home state where I’m a mom to 3 babies until 4 year olds, a huge animal lover (we have two adopted pups, Sadie and Sam), a bookworm, and a professional Netflix marathoner.
Growing up in a Bangladeshi-Filipino household, there was always delicious home-cooked meals and l developed a palate and love for spices, fresh chilies, and unique flavors at an early age.
I love taking photos and being creative both in and out of the kitchen. Since getting married, I’ve learned that cooking for two while working a full-time job can be a challenge and it’s even harder to prepare fresh meals during the week. It’s been my goal to find and create recipes that are flavorful, satisfying, use fresh ingredients, and can sometimes be whipped up on a whim on those long work days.

Jasmine, thank you kindly for liking my recent blog post on Side/Dishes! 🙂 You’ve got such a lush and glamorous visual style here, it’s quite a way to present these delectable recipes. My blog’s got a lot of “et cetera” going on, but if you liked the recipe I posted yesterday, you’d do well to subscribe for some more meal concepts and zany stories.
Take care!

Hi Jasmine! I love your intro, your new life sounds fun and exciting (and very full too!). I recognize myself in what you write, about cooking for two being a challenge at times. On my side, I’ve been spicing up my cooking activity by enlarging the range of dishes I make, now I develop my skills around world food cuisine, but it requires quite some preparation ahead of dinner time. however, I must say the results often are very satisfying for both my husband and myself, and let’s be honest it’s so nice to be able to please the one you love while enjoying great food! Keep cooking and enjoying life!!
Hi Sophie, thank you so much!! I love that you make food from all around the world. What a great way to expand your palette and try new, exciting dishes! I, too, find that cooking is one of my favorite ways to show my love. Thank you for your comment!
Heylow Jasmine, I love that name since the Alladin days and of course because of the flowers also 🙂 I must say I am not a real “cooking” kind of woman. But your recipes look so flavorful and easy to make as well 🙂 And not to mention they all look quite yummylicious 😀 Welcoming you to visit my little website as well. 🙂

Here is the link https://koolkosherkitchen.wordpress.com/2016/10/19/a-new-award-and-a-mother-in-law/ You are not in any way obligated to accept, and I fully understand that not everyone has the time and inclination to participate in these self-and-others-promoting exercises. Therefore, I will truly appreciate if you accept the nomination, as I sincerely think you deserve it, but I won’t get offended if you don’t. Nominating each one of you is my way of giving credit to some exceptional bloggers and perhaps attracting attention to your work.

I love this spaghetti sauce recipe and now I’m eating a keto regime, so wondering if I use spaghetti squash vs regular spaghetti noodles, is the sauce alone considered keto?
Thank you for your quick reply- making spaghetti today for my husband and I, he gets the real pasta😌
